Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
This book was thoroughly enjoyable and lived up to all the hype. There was an interesting mix of Jack's viewpoints, that provided something for both young and older readers. Hopefully the transition to movie will not be disappointing.

Once I reached the last third of the book, the narrative bolted downhill. A basic explanation: it was too easy. I imagined the author just shrugging her shoulders and walking away, taking an easy way out for every scenario. It may be my high expectation to blame after hearing such rave reviews, but I seriously doubt anyone would read this and feel it belonged on an even keel of any classic love stories.
